First Devlog! Updates and Future Plans
Combat Nexus Log Date 4-5-19
Hello reader, and welcome to our first official development log!
Highlights of Updates Made:
Successfully implemented local multiplayer
Three guns fully modeled and rigged: the pistol (blue), the Refraction Rifle (orange), and the Plasma Rifle (teal)
Refraction Rifle has been used as a placeholder for the player to hold, but it will be replaced with one of the other two guns by the time the beta rolls around. Keep an eye out for its return in the future!
Arena has been outlined, all that's left to do is splash some fun and chaos into each room
Near Future Features:
An animated player model that doesn't interfere with the camera perspective or the gravity fields
Levels that play with the physics in unique ways, from moving platforms to pulling the player in different directions
Gravity fields that work reliably and smoothly
Projectiles with a new particle effect consistent with the modular systems constructed so far from the art department
Our team will be showcasing a playable demo of Neospace: Combat Nexus at our campus convention ("CODCON") the weekend of April 13. Click the link for more info on the con. The demo will be uploaded here after the convention, and will feature combat, improved physics properties, and constructed level interiors. We have our work cut out for us until that weekend arrives!
